THE OPPORTUNITY
Michelin, a global leader in manufacturing, is seeking a passionate and skilled Quality Engineer to join our multifaceted manufacturing team in Peosta, Iowa. This role is essential in ensuring our products meet the highest industrial quality standards. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead or participate in multi-functional teams to find innovative solutions to quality problems.
- Initiate standard methodologies locally in coordination with the Michelin Quality Network.
- Collaborate with customers to develop PPAP information for products manufactured at Michelin-Peosta.
- Provide quality support for new product development, validate changes, and reduce risks.
- Work with suppliers to correct quality issues and improve the quality of their parts.
- Determine the disposition of non-conforming parts and sub-assemblies.
- Ensure that quality processes conform to the quality management systems and ISO9001:2015 requirements.
- Conduct process audits throughout the plant.
- Engage in continuous personal and professional development through a vast network of local and central training.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Supplier, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of people management experience.
- 3-5 years of related work experience in a quality field (automotive or agricultural assembly experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with quality protocols and ISO requirements is preferred.
- Knowledge of APQP and AIAG formats, measurement systems, and tools such as bore gauges, depth gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Experience with ECNs, CAR, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to interpret drawings and schematics, with knowledge of GD&T preferred but not required.
- Knowledge or experience with Lean Manufacturing.
- Effective problem-solving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office® Suite and the ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
- Attention to detail and data accuracy.
