Application Specialist / Deployer (Experienced Professional)

Come join our growing team of Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, and IT Engineers at our US0 Central Engineering Headquarters, located at our  Donaldson Campus in Greenville, South Carolina.  Our Engineering Teams are responsible for the successful implementation of major capital projects throughout North America and South America.  These state-of-the-art projects relate to new and upgraded material handling, material preparation, tire-building, and curing processes at our Manufacturing Facilities throughout the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, and Canada. 

Mission:

In this role you will carry out feasibility studies with challenged and validated functional specifications and evaluate possible solutions from the point of view of costs, deadlines, risks and functional choice criteria. You will also define, build, deploy, and maintain relevant & valuable information systems to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Expectations:

Deploying solutions with business value and understanding & challenging business requirements (hands on business activities)

Translating business requirements into functional specifications

Deploying solutions while taking into account security and integration rules & Michelin methodologies

Contributing to change management, communication, and training for deployed solutions

Ensuring that deployed solutions are stable, performant, easy to use and operate, and secure

Help to identify and report bugs and enhancements in functionality in support of the user experience

Provide maintenance and support for deployed solutions (requires some on-call support outside of normal work hours and weekends)

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in the field (preferred) or recent college graduate with at least 2-3 co-op/intern rotations or other manufacturing experience.
  • BS in Computer/Information Science
  • A demonstrated ability to work with others to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful functional specifications
  • Familiarity with various programming and markup languages, including C#, PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and jQuery
  • Knowledge of enterprise relational database platforms, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL
  • Experience with administration and/or implementation of the following is a plus: Kubernetes, Power-BI, Power Apps, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL
  • Experience & working knowledge of various scripting methods, including VBA and PowerShell
  • Ability to quickly learn factory production layout and flow and how they relate to the supporting information systems
  • Prior experience in supporting IS operations in a 24x7 manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Must be willing to travel around 25% of time when needed (local and international business trips)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English (French, Spanish, and/or Portuguese is a plus)
  • Proven track record of project management capabilities
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Attention to detail is critical!
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
